SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won on Thursday was reelected as head of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), a major South Korean business lobby, for a second term.
The KCCI held an extraordinary general meeting in Seoul and unanimously reelected Chey as the chamber's chairperson.
The term of the KCCI chair is three years, with the option for one reappointment. Chey has served as the chamber's chief since 2021.
Chey has introduced key initiatives, such as the KCCI communication platform and the Entrepreneurship Roundtable, emphasizing the need to strengthen the private sector's engagement with the government and the public.
He was also actively involved in South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo, having traveled around the world extensively as a special envoy last year. (Yonhap)
